Catch LV: Worth the Hype?

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

There was a point in time where I couldn't go on Instagram without seeing the infamous "Hit Me" cake, so when I arrived in Vegas, I knew I had to see what all the buzz was about. If you're not familiar with the restaurant already, the menu mainly consists of seafood with the exception of a few items, one of the most popular being the A5 wagyu. If you're a pescatarian, or a sushi lover, you'll love this place...just be prepared to pay top dollar.

We started with the truffle sashimi and w-o-w. The minute I finished my first bite, I already knew this dinner was in fact worth the price. My boyfriend loved it just as much and that's saying a lot...he's a very picky eater!

Next, a cocktail - the one above was called One Too Many, and the king oyster roll. Both were great, but not standouts. If you're a vegetarian and visiting this place, definitely order the king oyster roll...by no means was it bad but when you compare it their raw fish...it just doesn't. Another must get at Catch, the crunchy rice cakes! This stuff was so good, and is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Topped with tuna and aioli...who wouldn't like this?

The final savory item we got was the Lobster Mac. I'm not kidding when I say it's the best I've ever had. Instead of a traditional Mac n cheese with lobster...Catch's macaroni is smothered in a thick sauce reminiscent of lobster bisque, with the perfect amount of cheese and very large pieces of lobster throughout. I could've ordered this as my meal, and if I go back, I probably will. The portion is very large, super sharable (even though you won't want to) and worth the $29. Ugh, writing about this is making me crave it...if anyone's got a recipe...email me! Seriously if you're only ordering a few things at Catch the Lobster Mac needs to be one of them!

For the grand finale...and because it was my birthday dinner, I tried the iconic Hit Me Cake. I wasn't really expecting to love it. I'm not the biggest fan of ice cream, but when at Catch...

Long story short, I was pleasently suprised. I enjoyed the dessert and would order it again! This is another must-order, especially your first time there. Vegas is all about extravagance and Catch fits the bill. The restaurant is beautiful with intricate flower walls and ceilings, and the dining area themed like a candle-lit garden. It's the perfect place to kick off your Vegas trip, or celebrate a special occasion. I can honestly say it's worth the $100 a person price tag. So to answer the orignial question - is Catch LV worth the hype: Y E S.

Till next time,

xoxo Tori
